👩💻👨 Mission

Shotgun is scaling quickly. As we expand into new markets, launch new ventures, and build new teams from the ground up, we recognize the importance of data-driven insights to guide our decisions and validate our strategies. We’re looking for a Research Associate who will be pivotal in uncovering and interpreting complex patterns within our data, conducting rigorous studies, and contributing to a deeper understanding of our business landscape.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead exploratory research projects that tackle challenging questions and provide critical insights into our industry. You will design and conduct complex statistical analyses and behavioral studies that will position Shotgun as a thought leader in the events and entertainment space

🔨What you will do

  • Investigate complex business questions: Analyze the impact of key variables—such as pricing, feature sets, and user behavior—using robust statistical and analytical techniques to inform executive decision-making.
  • Conduct deep, exploratory research: Engage in long-term studies that leverage both proprietary and external data sources to uncover meaningful insights about our market, users, and business dynamics.
  • Develop insights for thought leadership: Produce rigorous, data-driven research materials suitable for presentation at industry conferences and strategic discussions, establishing Shotgun’s expertise in the event space.
  • Drive data-informed strategy: Continuously leverage findings from ongoing research to refine Shotgun’s strategy, identifying patterns and trends that guide our approach to new markets and product enhancements.

💡 The job is made for you if you are...

  • 👩🏾‍🎓 You bring both analytical rigor and business insight: You hold a strong academic foundation—ideally a Master’s or PhD in fields such as Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative disciplines.
  • 🕐 You have up to 3 years of experience in research or consulting, with a proven ability to conduct data-driven investigations that impact strategy.
  • 💬 You excel at communicating complex findings: You can present insights in a clear, accessible way, making data meaningful to a non-technical audience.
  • 👀 You are naturally curious and proactive: You enjoy exploring new approaches to unlock value from data and are always looking for productive ways to deepen your understanding.
  • 🪄 You are skilled in data manipulation: You’re proficient with tools like Excel, SQL and/or Python, and confident working with large datasets that won’t fit on your machine memory.
  • 🤖 You have a solid grounding in applied statistics and understand how to apply statistical methods to answer practical business questions.
  • 🌐 You are fluent in English and French and can collaborate effectively with teams across multiple offices.
  • 💃 You’re passionate about the entertainment industry: Whether it’s music, gaming, or live events, you find joy in contributing to an industry that brings people together.
