The role

Your role is to help us improve our data-related products, develop new features and offer our customers the best possible user experience.

The data engineer role encompasses multidisciplinary expertises between data engineering, software engineering and product crafting.

As a Senior, you’ll not only act as a reference on design and development processes, but you’ll also help your team members progress by sharing your expertise.

Missions

• Work on the continuous improvement of existing functionalities / modules

• Work on the implementation of new functionalities / modules

• Consolidate tests, refine code quality and strive to simplify our codebase

• Ensure delivery of the best user experience for our customers

• Be a driving force in team delivery

Stack

• Backend: Python, Pandas, Airflow, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Neo4j, Scrapy, Zyte, S3

• Frontend: Dash, Plotly, Highcharts, Streamlit

• Devops: Docker, GitHub Actions

• Methodology : Agile, 2-weeks sprints, continuous delivery

Background and experiences

• You have at least 6 years’ experience as a data engineer or software engineer in data related projects

• Your experiences have allowed you to shift from an individual contributor mindset to a product and quality focused engineering role

• You have experience on software and data projects with a strong emphasis on maintainability (conception, architecture patterns, testability, documentation, knowledge sharing, …)

• You’re familiar with the following technologies and concepts: Python, data stores (eg. SQL, NoSQL, …), ETL/ELT orchestration tools (eg. Airflow, Airbyte, …), type and data validation (eg. Pydantic, mypy, …), architecture patterns with Python (eg. test-driven, hexagonal/clean architecture, …), sofware engineering practices (eg. SOLID principles, DDD, TDD, …)
