📋 Context

You will work on an ambitious environment sustained by a recent IPO & Fund raising enabling Younited to innovate on new product lines and consolidateon existing ones by reducing costs thanks to process automation.

Our data science team is made up of experienced professionals dedicated to using data for impactful decision-making. With 8 years of history and an average of 6 years of experience per team member, we have successfully deployed over 20 models (regular ML, deep learning & GenAI models) that power Younited’s lending decision engine, directly influencing our P&L (GMV). 

Our data scientists are business-driven, pragmatic, and prioritize excellence through technical innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement. We use technologies like Python, GCP, classical machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI to solve complex business problems. 

Your responsabilities :

• Develop machine learning models and data pipelines to address various business challenges, enhancing system efficiency and accuracy. 

• Work closely with data engineers and machine learning engineers to ensure effective production deployment of models. 

• At Younited, Data Scientists also act as project managers on their topics. 

• Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders: local business units across four countries (FR, IT, ES, PT) , risk, product, and support functions (finance, compliance, etc.), and local business units across four countries (FR, IT, ES, PT) to enhance products and processes through data-driven insights. 

• Experiment with new techniques and propose innovative solutions for operational challenges. 

• Your Scope 

• You will work in a rigorous and challenging environment to support the growth and scalability of Younited’s solution, committed to automating as many steps as possible in the credit approval decision process 

• Your models will have a direct financial impact on Younited 

• You’ll work on the topics of the Data Science AI team, which is developing & maintaining a wide range of solutions across the entire value chain of Younited, ranging from marketing to fraud detection, with a high focus on: 

  • Deploying GenAI models for our operations (Customer Service, Granting decision, Collections & Marketing) 

  • Open banking analysis (the root of our automated decision process) based on NLP models to extract and aggregate information of bank statements

🫵 About your profile

• 3 to 7 years of experience in data science, with solid expertise in machine learning; experience with Generative AI is a plus.

• Proficient in Python, SQL, and machine learning libraries/tools (scikit-learn, pandas, Polars, SHAP, etc.).

• Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of fintech challenges; pragmatic, proactive, and focused on delivering end-to-end business solutions.

• Analytical, curious, and solution-oriented; enjoy tackling complex problems and working as part of a team.

• Ability to clearly communicate results, simplify technical concepts for diverse audiences, and work independently while collaborating effectively.

• Passionate about technology and data, with a proactive approach to continuous learning.

• Keen interest in deploying models into production, taking ownership from development to deployment.

🤝 About your future manager

• His background: Florian has been working at Younited for several years in the Data team and is now in charge of the Data Science AI team. Florian considers the role of Data Scientist at Younited to be central and an important driver of Younited’s growth.

• His view on the working approach at Younited and the position: The main goal is to implement solutions that allow for automation and thus scale Younited’s processes (granting, marketing, customer service, etc.). This position requires both proactivity and autonomy to deliver and manage projects in production.
