Captain Data

Founded by three engineers, friends for more than 10 years, Captain Data has come from a long way. Started in Nantes back in 2018, the founders rapidly moved to Paris to benefit from a stronger tech/business ecosystem.

Initially bootstrapped, Captain Data raised a pre-seed in 2020 and a 1M€ seed late 2021.

The platform is mature and feature-rich. We like to think that the idea has emerged with time and was not something entirely thought from the beginning. 

We're currently expanding in the US, with the will to create a true international leader.

We have big plans for Captain Data! Our vision is to let anyone access data on the web - we have some work to do before being able to say we did it 😅

It's based on 3 product pillars:

• Extracting data
• Aggregating and enriching it
• Integrating everything into any stack

And 3 business pillars:

• 3rd-party integrations
• partners
• builders

What to expect:

• 2022 will be the year where we build our team
• 2023 will be focused on US expansion
• 2024 & 2025 will see the fastest growth we can possibly achieve

One of the key thing at Captain Data would be transparency.

There's a very strong knowledge sharing culture, and everything is opened and easily accessible. We're using Notion a LOT.

We have a no-bullshit culture - you'll be asked for honest feedback and get such feedback.

Nobody's perfect, we sure ain't.

But we like the idea of "doing better".

This sense of excellency drives a lot how we do things :)
