We are looking for an experienced, passionate Lead Data Engineer to take on a crucial role on our team. The heart of our company activity is to collect and structure legal data from all over the world, so we can deliver value to our users with our different products (GenAI Assistant, Search Engine, Professional Network). As our company is rapidly growing (Series B to be announced), we are about to redesign from scratch most of our data pipeline so they can be more scalable, more secure and integrate the latest technologies.
You will oversee the design and implementation of new data pipelines, using cutting-edge Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve data collection, processing, and enrichment, along with NLP and machine learning techniques.
The ideal candidate will have several years of experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, including by using LLMs. S.he will work closely with our CTO and legal engineers, and should have the ability to work well in a fast-paced tech environment, and enjoys working in a multicultural, friendly and inclusive environment.

📌 The Department: Engineering
The Engineering Team at Jus Mundi consists of over 20 people (software and data engineers, data scientists, cloud engineers) from more than 10 different countries.
What you’ll do:
Design, develop, and implement robust data pipelines using Generative AI, LLM technologies, NLP, and machine learning.
Oversee the entire data lifecycle, from collection and processing to enhancement. Monitor and optimize data processes for efficiency, scalability, and performance.
Use your expertise to be a key contributor to the design, development, and execution of Jus Mundi’s Data roadmap
Build and manage a team of software/data/legal engineers and data scientists. You will provide mentorship, and you will share your experience with your team and help them along with their own development
Ensure adherence to ethical AI principles and compliance with legal and regulatory standards in AI applications.
Ensure the confidentiality and security of data processing activities, adhering to best practices and regulatory requirements.
Who you are:
You have 8+ years as data engineer and 3+ years in a leadership position.
An advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience with data pipeline design and implementation.
You have experience using Generative AI and LLM technologies.
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead diverse teams, with a focus on collaboration and development
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
You have solid engineering skills in computer science, NLP, LLMs, and machine learning: how they work, how to implement them, what we can do with them, and their limits.
Full professional proficiency in English
